Project RECCE CIO

Project RECCE was formed when two friends came together to offer help to the growing number of Military Veterans and Service Leavers who were finding themselves lost and disillusioned with the transition from military service to employment in civvy street.

Former Infantry Officer, Captain Laurence "Loz" Moore and experienced Property Developer Neil Houlihan's paths re-crossed after Loz left the British Army. Neil offered Loz an employment opportunity and quickly realised that he possessed valuable knowledge, skills and experience, as well as a set of values and standards that set him apart for his civilian counterparts.

It was through this realisation that the pair decided to investigate the viability of creating a ‘Pathway’ for all Veterans and Service Leavers into the construction Industry. Project RECCE was finally piloted when Neil and Loz successfully mentored a young Veteran and managed to secure his employment with a large construction company. Initially in an entry level position, he was promptly promoted and has continued to develop up to management level. This process has now evolved into a formal 2-week course, focusing on resilience in civvy street, employability skills and an unrivalled support network. The training, coaching & mentoring was refined and then paid forward and has now grown organically into the model of sustainable career transition that you can be a part of.

Today, Project RECCE is thriving, national Charity that

is pioneering new and innovative ways to resettle Military Veterans and Service Leavers in the UK Construction Industry and wider science, technology, engineering and manufacturing sectors.
